OUR GOAL IS TO FIND GREAT OPPORTUNITIES IN COMPLEX MARKETS.

THE MARKET

The structured credit market exists as a means to provide financing for consumers, commercial real estate landlords, and a variety of other borrowers. Structured credit securities are backed by loans against a variety of collateral types including individual homes, automobiles, and large commercial properties like office and apartment buildings.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Regulatory capital requirements have made owning these securities more difficult for banks and insurance companies, which has created opportunities for funds to own structured credit securities. Our portfolio managers and employees are experienced in many facets of the market, including sourcing, structuring and trading of these securities.

THE FUND

The Axonic Alternative Income Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end interval fund that seeks total return. In pursuing its investment objective, the Fund invests primarily in income-producing instruments.  Such instruments may consist of: (i) mortgage-backed securities (“MBS”), including residential mortgage-backed securities (“RMBS”) and commercial mortgage-backed securities (“CMBS”); (ii) other asset-backed securities (“ABS”) and structured credit instruments, including collateralized debt obligations (“CDOs”), collateralized loan obligations (“CLOs”) and collateralized mortgage obligations (“CMOs”); (iii) whole loans and participations in whole loans, including commercial mortgage mezzanine loans and participations (“Mezzanine Loans”), whole residential and commercial mortgage loans and participations, and consumer loans and participations; and (iv) other income-producing investments, including corporate and bank-issued bonds, loans and participations.
